Approach
From the commercial question to a system in use.
The weight of each part changes with the situation. Some work is a decision before anything is built. Some is already in operation and needs the measurement, the integration, or both. The practices are set out under expertise.

01
Read the commercial context
What is being offered, to whom, and which part of the economics depends on a digital system. Where delay, error or a missing connection costs money or credibility. Which constraints are already fixed.
-
02
Set the technology direction
Name the platforms that will carry the work, the boundaries between them, and what will not be built. A direction is specific enough to argue with. A statement any supplier could sign is not yet one.
-
03
Join the systems
Make the interfaces, the owner of each record and the rejection path explicit. A diagram that cannot survive a refused transaction is not yet an operating design.
-
04
Implement in proportion
Configuration, development and integration, enough to put a reliable system into operation and leave it owned by the people who will run it. Custom software is used when the operation needs it.
-
05
Measure and adjust
Search performance against the content structure. Operational reports against the process people run. Transactions with other parties against what can be reconciled. Later change follows those readings.
Handover is part of the implementation.
A system that only its author can change has not been absorbed by the business. The useful record of the work is the decisions and the boundaries, not a pile of generated description. When that record exists, later refinement has something to argue with. Contact Eliga
